This page serves as a sort of archive of old chocolate quest / better dungeons version iterations.
Almost all information was collected and refined by Turbulation #7766! Credits to ArloTheEpic for the 1.2.3 version and Credits to Slayer5934#4201 for helping find the 1.2.5-0.95 version
Evolution of the original forum post
- A few days after 1.7.10-1.0 released the old archive on the forum post that had 1.4.7 and lower version iterations was deleted for unknown reasons and the curseforge became the main way of the downloading the mod, which only goes back to 1.5.2 versions from June 2013. (Archive.org) This was the last archive before the 1.4.7 and lower versions archive was deleted off the forum post.
- Chocolatin has also removed specific version iterations from the archive like 0.892, the Beta 1.8.1 versions, and 0.921. And it's mainly due to issues with Mediafire, Chocolatin mentioned over the years that Mediafire likes to randomly delete his files for no apparent reason, so when they are deleted that means he just removes the link to them on Mediafire.
- Chocolatin changed the style of the forum post over time to match the current version of the mod and showing his current plans which included making it more appealing to people who like adventure mods and changing the url name which is how a lot of archives exist of the forum post.
- Chocolatin started to post the download link of newer versions of the mods (1.7.2 and 1.4.7 Betas) on the comments page in February 2013 rather than the forum post and then putting it on the wiki. This did however mean many people would not know the existence of that version, so that's why the curseforge page was made.
- The Forum post was deleted around the beginning of 2019 most likely due to the inactivity of Chocolatin.
Archive Text Colors
This is a short explanation of the different text colors.
- Green:
- Can be found on old better dungeons archive forum posts (though the archive links were hard to find), or from the official curseforge and wiki.
- Yellow:
- Can only be found by another repost site (These would be easier to find then the forum post archives) or via getting it from someone so it’s harder to find/obtain.
- Red:
- Unobtainable by any means, forgotten or no proof of the version exists.
Info on Archive
- All of the versions are also named after their file names. With exceptions of the planned but never released versions.*
- At the bottom of the CQC versions you can also find a archive of the Adventure Items mod which was basically a addon to better dungeons that added more items to the mod and it was only used in versions 1.0 to 1.2.5 before being merged into the 1.4.7 version in February 2013 when Chocolatin returned for the first time in months.*
- About 27 working old/lost versions of the mod have been found as well as 28 truly lost versions without download links, a few (yellow highlighted) have been archived from people over the years and one of them (1.4.7-BETA2) was on a outdated repost site. There's also one version (0.932) that can be downloaded but crashes on starting up minecraft. A few lost adventure items versions have been found too (at the bottom of the page).*
- Installing old versions of the mod like 1.2.5 is the same way as 1.6.4 by dragging the chocolate folder into .minecraft and the better dungeons folder in the mods folder. Installing old forges can be tricky however, so if you can't do that then I recommend Technic Launcher for that. (Technicpack)*
